Persons

Black as pitch
Bright has been
Avert thy eyes
Of all this sin

One - the left
With all his might
His quiet strength
My own white knight

And lo behold
The shadow’s grim
It births the son
Of its own whim

And With these two
Who sit atop
Under curve of heart
Each as a prop

They hold it up
They bring it down
They bear me with
A heavy crown

Their master, mistress
Their heart to bear
Don’t they ponder
Of wear and tear?

“Come and reign!”
They yell to me
“Here’s our soul,
Our dignity!”

If I keep work
As silent still
As I did then
With my own will

Their heart I’ll win
Their love, no bother
Though both don’t know
About the other.

**Disclaimer: I have a tumblr, so, there should only be one other copy of this poem floating around online. It is mine, though.
