Heh, I was sitting at the Dentist appointment waiting and reading the magazine issue of Road & Track where it had the article on the 2009 Nissan GT-R SpecV from Japan. It's $100k something, very nice, but the price I say ain't right. I'd buy me a Lambo or something first before buying this Skyline. Japan always got their hats up! But damn, not that much for a Nissan ahah. (no disrespect to Nissan or anything) Also, it mentioned that there are only like 200 models of these that will be made and NOT available on U.S.A soil

well 100k foor the performance is worth it. ur not really getting the name though. nissan is not known to be a exotic/super car maker. but the specv specs are insane. lambos cost right around 300k. so if u want a car that put up basicly the same numbers for about 200k less then its worth it

I say "NO". Personally, I wouldn't be satisfied knowing I paid another $30k-$40k for a minuscule bump in HP, new brakes, new shocks, and some weight loss. Well actually the brakes I understand, but everything else wouldn't justify the price tag.
The original V-Specs weren't super-phenomenal in terms of performance gains over base GT-Rs (they were good, just not super-phenomenal), but the list of goodies you get goes on and on for the price you paid. This new Spec-V, however, falls short of mods you can do on your own for probably half the price.
So "YES" to keeping with tradition, "NO" to not justifying enough performance for the price.
I think the R&T guys were so impressed with the performance of these new tweaks that they forgot the "tweaks" cost an extra %50 of the car's base price.
to you Nissan.

exactly right on with not being exotic (nissan). if you search hard lol, someone could be selling a lambo for 100k is what i am saying. i mean i'd much rather spend that amount on that rather than this gt-r haah.

it is ridiculous on how something simple like brakes cost that much.---oh man, an arm and a leg, that's for sure

It's still a little more bang for buck compared to most exotic super cars, but it's not the final price that I disagree with, it's the lack of extra oomph you get for paying the premium.
I was expecting a little more out of it, maybe a few aerodynamic mods, some suspension bracing, and a larger bump in torque and hp. I'm not comparing car to car, but the Corvette has started to take over the GT-R's title as most bang-for-buck car. If you compare the features and specs from a ZR1 with a Z06 you can distinguish the two easily, whereas you'd probably confuse the Spec-V for a base model GT-R even on paper.
