G-Dragon started out as a child hip hop artist with high hopes of becoming famous. He was also a model. However, at that age, he could not release his own albums but featured on other artists' albums from YG Entertainment. He became a member of "Little Roo'ra" when he was just 5 years old and became a rapper in 2001, with hiphop-style baggy pants and tilted baseball cap. He was noticed by Yang Hyun Suk, Ex member of Seotaji and the Boys, and became a trainee of YG Entertainment. For the next 6 years, he trained in song and dance. His goal was to be a singer like Jinusean. After his debut, he was recruited with fellow Big Bang member, Tae Yang to act in Jinusean's music video as little Jinusean.
After graduating from high school, G-Dragon waited a year before applying to a college and took his college entrance exams in 2007.
